Saul Herrera, Pastry Chef

Meet Saul Herrera, our Pastry Chef at Villa del Palmar Cancun. Born and brought up in Cancun, his first passion was tennis, but it wasn’t long before he realized that cooking was his one true love, dedicating his life to the kitchen to create fabulous desserts, bread and pastries. Enjoy this short interview.   How did your passion for baking begin? I knew I wanted to be a chef at the age of 16. While I was still in high school, I took a diploma in Mediterranean cuisine just out of curiosity, and it was during that time I realized I wanted to be a chef. I have now been working in bakeries for more than 16 years, and have never stopped learning and perfecting my techniques. I like to experiment with all styles of cuisine, from homemade food to street food, from fast food to gourmet dinners. For me, it’s all about experiencing and experimenting with flavors! Originally from Guadalajara, the capital of the Mexican state of Jalisco on the west side of Mexico, Cristina Silva is your Premium Services Manager at Villa del Palmar Cancun. Meet Nahum Montero, Your Quality Control Manager at Villa del Palmar Cancun

Originally from Yanga, in the Mexican state of Veracruz, a small municipality with around 1,200 inhabitants, Nahum Montero grew up in a warm and friendly community that is famed for being the first place in Mexico to be liberated from the Spanish and founded by African slaves who rebelled against both the crown and slavery. My professional career began in 2004 when I started working in a warehouse in Puerto Vallarta in the buying department.
