Cabo San Lucas, the End of the World!

If you have yet to use your Club Caribe membership to enjoy a vacation in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico’s Baja California peninsula, then you still have a wonderful treat in store. Villa del Palmar Cabo and Villa del Arco are located (almost) at the end of the world in Cabo San Lucas, offering stunning views of El Arco, known to English speakers as Land’s End.

El Arco is an incredible landmark formed over millennia from a rocky protrusion that arches like the tail of some mythical creature. The distinctive geological shape with its sugarloaf peaks and arch is a breathtaking sight to see on the horizon from your balcony or from the beach and restaurants at Villa del Palmar Cabo and Villa del Arco. Its name in English, Land’s End, comes from the fact that if you were to draw a line due south as the crow flies from the arch, you would not see land until you reached the South Pole.

Apart from its characteristic shape, El Arco is famed for being one of the few places in the world where you can swim in both an ocean and a sea. That is, El Arco marks the spot where the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez meet, whose currents have contributed to the formation of Cabo’s most beloved landmark.

If you decide to make a day trip to El Arco, either with an organized tour or by taking a glass bottom water taxi from Cabo San Lucas Marina, you could spend the morning or afternoon on Lover’s Beach and Divorce Beach, which are joined by a magical cave. While Lover’s Beach is safe for swimming, you are warned not to enter the waters at Divorce Beach for fear of being swept away by its unpredictable currents. For a colorful underwater adventure, there are also many spectacular and safe spots for snorkeling and diving with good visibility around El Arco.

Another of the main attractions for visitors to El Arco is to see sea lions, seals and exotic birdlife. Seals and sea lions are renowned for spending their days lounging in the sun at El Arco. Don’t be surprised to feel the splash of a pelican bomb.

So why not let Club Caribe help you to expand your horizons with a visit to Cabo San Lucas on your next vacation.
