Another great way to explore the island is by boat. Local fishermen offer guided tours around the island and will take you to a few different beaches and stop at an area where you can go snorkeling and admire the amazing underwater world. Whale sharks can be found in the waters around Isla Mujeres from June 1st until September 15th, so if you visit during those months you will be able to safely swim and snorkel alongside these magnificent creatures.
Playa Norte is one of the most popular beaches in Isla Mujeres for its tranquil waters and beach clubs. Playa Norte is a west facing beach where you can see beautiful sunsets over the ocean. You can also enjoy swimming, kayaking or paddle boarding. One of the best beach clubs on Playa Norte is the Green Demon Beach Club and it offers nice beach beds, healthy food, tantalizing cocktails, and a generally great atmosphere to enjoy your day.
