Xpu-Há is an area located about 95 km south of Cancún, just south of Puerto Aventuras.
There are a few hotels, cabins, restaurants, and dive shops off the main highway heading towards the beach. It’s a good area to visit if you want to get out of the city and head down the coast to somewhere more remote, and relaxing, with plenty of adventures to check out.
At the north end of Xpu-Ha there are several cenotes where you can go swimming and snorkeling, including Cenote Cristalino, Cenote Eden, Jardin del Eden Cenote, Cenote Ponderosa, Cenote Azul, Cenote Abierto, Paraiso Tucan, and Kantun Chi eco-park.
To get to Xpu-Ha beach, you’ll need to exit Highway 307 onto a short dirt road that will take you down to the beach. You can walk down the dirt road or drive your car down to the parking lot. It’s a small parking lot, so get there early or plan to walk down. It’s only about a 5 minute walk.
There is a large bay with beautiful white sand.
There are two different areas of the beach. The northern end of the beach is more populated with a beach club, restaurant, tables, chairs, loungers, palapas, showers and bathrooms. In this area, the water is very clear and great for swimming and paddleboarding.
The southern end of the beach is more natural, secluded, without restaurants, palapas, lounge chairs or services. You can bring your own picnic lunch and hang out under the palm trees on this side of the beach, or bring your own beach umbrella for shade.
Continuing south towards Tulum you can find Cenote Manati, which is one of the largest cenotes in the region.
