Carlos Miranda – Butler at Hotel Mousai

This month we are starting a series on Hotel Mousai, in order to better acquaint members with Villa del Palmar’s sister resort. Remember, your Club Caribe membership gives you access to Hotel Mousai as well, so why not consider booking your next Puerto Vallarta vacation at Hotel Mousai! To kick of the series, we interviewed Carlos Miranda, superstar Butler at Hotel Mousai. You can find Carlos at the front desk, where he is happy to help out with any of your needs or requests. Carlos has an interesting story. When I met him, he was all smiles and eager to tell me about his life, and about what a Butler actually does. Carlos, please tell me about your background. I was born in Puerto Vallarta, and I grew up here until I was 20 years old. Then, I had the chance to move to the United States I lived there for 8 years, and during that time, I traveled a lot in Nevada, California, and Washington State. I came back to Puerto Vallarta because I …

Patricia Gazca – Manager of Sales: Tour & Travel

Paty, thank you very much for your time today. I would love to know a little about you. I am originally from the Federal District (Mexico City), a city with many things to do, discover, and learn. I have been living in this beautiful city of Cancun for 14 years. It was an excellent decision; I love my city! I studied hotel management in college, and I always told myself I want to live in a city that has a beach! And look at the city that welcomed me so much! I already have several years living here, where I have met many people, clients, and I have also lived many experiences that have made me grow as a person and professionally. I was originally going to live in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo but a friend suggested that we come to Playa del Carmen, where we were living for 6 months, and then I moved to Cancun just as Hurricane Wilma arrived in October 2005. Wilma was a hurricane that marked Cancun, without a doubt, but the …

Jose Luis Gustavo – Maintenance Manager at Villa Del Palmar Cancun

Jose Luis, thank you very much for your time today. Could you share a little about yourself? I am originally from Jalisco, but I attended high school through university in Mexico City. I love the city, but I love where I currently live! I studied mechanical engineering, which I am passionate about without a doubt. I am a graduate of the Polytechnic University of Mexico. I entered the hotel industry a year before I finished my degree, which opened many doors for me and helped to consolidate the knowledge I obtained in classrooms in order to work in the maintenance area. The first hotel I worked at gave me the opportunity to come to Cancun, but at that time I didn’t know that I would settle here years later. I have been residing happily in Cancun since 1987. I met my beloved wife with whom I have a beautiful family consisting of my 2 children, my 15 year old daughter and my 8 year old son, whom I love and enjoy completely. My career started …

Alma Avila – Regional Director of Sales & Marketing

I am originally from Mexico City, where I studied until my university career. During the first semester of my Communications major (I share that it is easy for me to write!) we went on vacation, but what a vacation!! We truly never imagined what we would experience on that trip. We had an accident on the road – my parents, my sister and I – from Mexico City. We went to Morelia for my grandparents, but that time they did not want to go. The last thing I remember after the accident is to have woken up and I was the first of my family to react and the first thing I did was try to get them out. Fortunately no one lost their lives, but we had severe injuries. It was a very severe event. After the accident, months later we were still in Guerrero / Acapulco, the destination to which we initially headed to enjoy a family vacation. Our family friends who lived in that destination and worked in the hotel business offered …

Meet Your New Staff at Garza Blanca Los Cabos: Javier Garcia, Member Services Manager

The ladies in the Member Services office at Garza Blanca Puerto Vallarta tell me that Javier Garcia is a real Casanova, but he was a little bit shy and reserved when speaking to me for this interview. Javier is serious and modest, brushing off his accomplishments as I asked him to talk about his background. The truth is he’s a rising star at Garza Blanca on the Membership side, and he has just recently earned a promotion that is taking him from Puerto Vallarta all the way to Los Cabos.   Javier was born in Mexico City and did his undergraduate studies in Puerto Vallarta in the field of Business Administration. He then went on to law school in Spain, where he earned his master’s degree in law from Complutense University of Madrid, which is one of the oldest universities in the world and one of the largest in Europe. He returned to Puerto Vallarta, armed with his new law degree, and he started working at Garza Blanca in January of 2015. With his undergrad …

We try to make sure when a member purchases a membership they understand everything they’re getting, and they feel comfortable and happy with their membership,” Ximena said. “We make sure everything they were promised is in the contract. Recounting 2018: A Message From Our General Manager

The new year has arrived and with it many memories! Many achievements, much learning and above all, growth of our people. 2018 has been a year full of challenges, and it fills me with pride to share that we have reached the goals we had set for ourselves in the satisfaction of our guests, which is what we try to maintain here, and this motivates us to continue making this place a real second home for each person who visits us. We had important investment projects that reaffirm the commitment of the TAFER group and Villa del Palmar Cancún to continue maintaining the property, keeping it updated and in the best possible condition; The remodeling of all our studio-type rooms to condition them according to AAA standards in the category of 4 diamonds, the replacement of 60% of the custom manufactured mattresses for TAFER group, the creation of a new area to provide greater comfort in our pools called “ZAK”, the complete remodeling of the Davino restaurant and the total change of furniture in our …

Karina Cruz – Wedding Coordinator

Karina, thank you for your time. Tell us a little bit about yourself. I am originally from Villahermosa, Tabasco. I am very happy with everything I have done and do now, I have been living in Cancun for 6 years now! A place without equal, a place with many opportunities! Coming to Cancun was an excellent and important decision in my life which has opened many doors and allowed me to continue adding personal experience and developing professionally.   I came looking for new opportunities, I ventured, but always trusting that I would find my “opportunity”, to grow in my field and gain experience in what I love so much: logistics, coordination of groups, weddings in one of the tourist destinations and most important wedding destinations!   I confess at first it was not so easy because I certainly had a plan outlined, I set myself a time to find work and settle down, otherwise fulfilling that time if I did not have what I thought, I would go back to my city, with only …

Hugo-Pina-Bar-Manager

Hugo Pina – Bar Manager

Hugo, thank you for sharing your time with us. We would love to know a little about you. I wanted to be a sailor and I wanted to study in military school, but I took the entrance exam for the naval school and I had no luck, so I decided to study Food and Beverage. When I did my internship I got experience in different departments: the kitchen, dining room service, restaurant administration, and the bar. During the internship in the first hotel where I was, I started in the bar division. I confess that I also like the kitchen and I’m drawn to the kitchen, but I prefer drinks. I worked in restaurants for a short time, which are a very different business than hotels, but I found that I love hotel operation, so I decided to return to hotels.   In hotel operation I learned many more things that I now put into practice, such as standards, certifications, processes, how to handle a large volume of beverages and products.   And that is …

Isabel Sibaja – Kids’ Club Manager

Isabel, thank you very much for your time today. I would love to know a little about you.   I am originally from the city of Coatzacoalcos in the state of Veracruz. It is an oil zone, and the economy is based on oil. Most people who live there work in the oil industry. My whole family moved to Cancun when I was 4 years old, because my father was transferred from his job in Coatzacoalcos to Cancun. When I was 13, we returned to Veracruz with my mother. I went to school in Veracruz, but I always told myself that if I had any chance, I would return to live and make my life in Cancun! I love Cancun; it is my favorite place because it’s clean and quiet. I have 2 children that I love, and they are my drive to be a better person every day. When I returned to Cancun I started working in the hotel industry right away, in the service area and in the Food and Beverage division. There …
