Patricia Gazca – Manager of Sales: Tour & Travel

Paty, thank you very much for your time today. I would love to know a little about you.

I am originally from the Federal District (Mexico City), a city with many things to do, discover, and learn. I have been living in this beautiful city of Cancun for 14 years. It was an excellent decision; I love my city!

I studied hotel management in college, and I always told myself I want to live in a city that has a beach! And look at the city that welcomed me so much! I already have several years living here, where I have met many people, clients, and I have also lived many experiences that have made me grow as a person and professionally.

I was originally going to live in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo but a friend suggested that we come to Playa del Carmen, where we were living for 6 months, and then I moved to Cancun just as Hurricane Wilma arrived in October 2005. Wilma was a hurricane that marked Cancun, without a doubt, but the solidarity and desire to move forward in Cancun were more, and soon fate revived this destination, and we have had excellent occupation since then and hopefully for many years to come. With the passage of time I know that my choice to live in Cancun has been fulfilling, and I love it.

When did you discover your passion for the world of sales in the hotel industry?

I wanted to dedicate myself to tourism since I was in high school studying the subject of travel agency and hotel, encompassing everything from gastronomy, to travel agencies, to hotels. I discovered that I enjoy every negotiation that is part of my job, being able to offer the best service to the different channels and exceeding their expectations fulfills me, without a doubt.

How does it feel to be a Manager of Sales: Tour & Travel in a great hotel like Villa del Palmar Cancun?

I believe it is a great opportunity to publicize the property with wholesalers in Canada, the United States, and Latin America. We have a beautiful product that is different than the rest of the hotels, our competition. It is a different type of business model for what we offer; our different categories of suites are unique.

What do you recommend to your clients when they visit Cancun?

I recommend going to the recreational parks, getting to know the nearby places, cenotes, archaeological zones, and the cultural part of the peninsula! Unlike other destinations, here there are many activities to do where you can coexist with local people. In fact it is still a safe, fun destination where you will surely have an excellent vacation!

How do you change or improve an ordinary experience in an extraordinary one?

Definitely taking care of each and every one of the details in the whole process, before, during and after your stay, since your recommendation is very valuable! We take your preference and recommendation into account. At Villa del Palmar Cancun you will find extraordinary experiences!

What inspired you to come to work at Villa del Palmar Cancun?

I was attracted to come to work at Villa del Palmar Cancun because it is a different hotel; it has a different and interesting business model! It is unique, since most of the hotels that are in this region have a very similar business model and I can share that here in this company is a model that remains at the forefront. It is dynamic; we demand the Hotel Sales team to continue looking for the best sales strategies to offer the best options to our customers.

What do you like to do in your free time?

I love being at home. I enjoy spending time with myself. Resting and recharging is something that is important for my life so I can continue to offer the best of me. I like to go to the movies and also to read. I like reading like novels and comedy.
